Chapter description

Thunder thinks about how Pebble Heart came to visit Owl Eyes, and how he carried the news Star Flower and her kits were stronger. He thinks about how Lightning Tail returned the other day, covered in scars and battle wounds. Thunder heads down the slope into Clear Sky's territory, to meet his new siblings, Dew Petal, Flower Foot, and Tiny Branch. As he approaches camp, Thunder sees Blossom and Birch, who asks if anything is wrong, and the pair take him to Clear Sky. Quick Water quickly greets Thunder, and Acorn Fur asks if there was any prey on the way. Thunder hears the kits and Clear Sky exits, happily greeting Thunder. The gray tom tells his son no one should be near the kits yet and shows his protective side of them, making Thunder envious. The ginger tom promises to visit some other time, and bids farewell to some of Clear Sky's cats.
As Thunder reaches the ravine, he hears arguing from his campmates, and asks what happened. Clover and Thistle tell Thunder that the hunting patrol was robbed by rogues, and Thunder tells his campmates they did the right thing by letting them take the prey. Leaf, Lightning Tail and Cloud Spots want to deceive the rogues and fight back, and Thunder stood there, not knowing what to say. Lightning Tail suddenly proposes the idea of battle training, so they can fight back for what is theirs. The others agree with the idea and Thunder feels supported by his friend, and decides if something happens to him, Lightning Tail will be leader of the group. He thanks his friend, and realizes that his campmates are ready for a fight.
