Chapter description

Moonpaw is washing herself outside her den when Morningkit interrupts her thinking with doubts from Tawnypelt since Brambleclaw's passing. Goldenpaw then tells Moonpaw that she told Squirrelstar about Morningkit, for the interest of the Clan. She laughs with Shinepaw and Goldenpaw, telling Morningkit that she does have friends.
Meanwhile, after they return to their dens, Morningkit taunts Moonpaw, claiming she told everyone about her and saying she no longer cares. In spite, Morningkit reveals how she escaped Brambleclaw in joining StarClan, then threatens Moonpaw by saying she will only go to StarClan if it is with her. Goldenpaw notices and comforts Moonpaw.
The next day, Moonpaw and Goldenpaw share a squirrel from the fresh-kill pile. Ivypool asks Tawnypelt to take Nightheart and Twigbranch on a patrol. Tawnypelt glances at Moonpaw, which makes her wonder if Tawnypelt blames her for the death of Brambleclaw. She says that Tawnypelt thinks that she sent him to the Dark Forest, despite him trying to help Moonpaw. Goldenpaw interjects, saying that it was ridiculous, and how Tawnypelt is just suffering from grief over her brothers death. Moonpaw agrees, and wonders if Goldenpaw would be a great father, but while she has the thought, Morningkit yells at Moonpaw, trying to make her remember her.
