"The monsters are keeping us from the Moonpool? Don't we need the Moonpool?"
— Beesting to Fidgetflake in Hidden Moon, page 57

Beesting is a small,[4] white[5]-and-brown[6] tabby she-cat[5] with distinctive white markings.[4]

Beesting is a SkyClan warrior under Leafstar's leadership in the lake territories. Beekit was born alongside her brother Beetlekit to Nectarsong and Dewspring. She was apprenticed to Sunnypelt as Beepaw and helped the effort to rebuild RiverClan camp following Splashtail's reign. After completing her training, she was given the warrior name Beesting.

History

In The Broken Code arc

Darkness Within

"Can I be your apprentice?"
―Beekit to Rootspring Darkness Within, page 277
At a medicine cat meeting, Fidgetflake announces that Nectarsong has had an easy first kitting and given birth to two kits, Beetlekit and Beekit, and reports that they are all in good health. Willowshine is happy to hear some good news during such a difficult time.
After the Sisters' summoning ceremony, Beekit and Beetlekit experience their first day outside of the nursery, under the watchful eye of their parents, Dewspring and Nectarsong. Rootspring watches as Beekit nearly crashes into Snow, who gazes warmly at the kit. Dewspring snatches her up and carries her away. Rootspring becomes lost in thought, and does not notice when Beekit and Beetlekit hare toward him and dart between his legs. The yellow tom hops out of the way and tells the kits to slow down, and Beekit asks who he is. Rootspring tells the kits his name, and Beekit asks if he is the one who brought the Sisters to SkyClan. Rootspring confirms this, and Beekit purrs excitedly, saying he is so cool, and asks if she can be his apprentice. Beetlekit argues that he wants to be Rootspring's apprentice, and the two kits begin play-fighting.

The Place of No Stars

Beekit and Beetlekit play with a small moss-ball which Wrenpaw had given them.

A Light in the Mist

Rootspring recalls how Beekit and Beetlekit followed him around camp asking him questions about his time in the Dark Forest.

In the A Starless Clan arc

River

She is now an apprentice named Beepaw and her mentor is Sunnypelt.

Star

"There can't be another warrior like Splashtail."
―Beepaw to Bayshine Star, page 243
Beepaw and her mentor Sunnypelt are sent to help rebuild RiverClan camp after Splashtail's death. The two meet up with WindClan and ThunderClan cats along the way. Beepaw asks why RiverClan does not pick the strongest warrior to be leader, and if StarClan could send a sign. At the RiverClan camp, Beepaw, Sunnypelt, Nightheart, and Bayshine work on repairing the apprentices' den. Beepaw complains about cleaning the nests. During the evening meal, Beepaw shares a sparrow with Sunnypelt.

In the Changing Skies arc

The Elders' Quest

She is now a warrior named Beesting. As Leafstar's eyesight is failing, she tries to identify each cat in the clearing and makes out Beesting through her pelt's distinctive white markings.

Hidden Moon

When Fidgetflake and Frecklewish report that monsters are guarding the Moonpool, Beesting is concerned, pointing out that they need the Moonpool. Starlingpaw decides to investigate himself, though he is startled by a call above him, remembering how Beesting had teased him and his sister that owls would grab them up for a meal if they left camp.

Chasing Shadows

"I wish I could be more like you, Starlingpaw. When I was an apprentice, sometimes I felt like Sunnypelt was just wrong, but I wasn't brave enough to say so."
―Beesting to Starlingpaw Chasing Shadows, page 184
While Tawnypelt is visiting SkyClan, Beesting informs her that Leafstar wishes to share prey with her. Beesting listens as the older warriors debate returning to the gorge, recounting how difficult their journey was. Later, Beesting and Duskshine commend Starlingpaw for speaking up at the Gathering; Beesting adds she wishes she was brave enough to speak her mind when she was an apprentice. Starlingpaw briefly thinks how cute Beesting is before his mentor interrupts. Later, Beesting and Duskshine inform Starlingpaw how they have been hearing starnge noises outside of the camp at night, though the guards can only find crushed plants with no scent trails. When the older warriors suspect it might be a fox, Starlingpaw argues that it might the deceiver mentioned by Stoneteller, and Beesting and Duskshine agree with him. Frustrated how the older cats were dismissing his idea, Starlingpaw decides to form a secret group with Beesting, Ridgeglow, Birchfeather, Duskshine, and Robinpaw to search for the deceiver themselves.
